Water pump engine, Ruston, 1930, Ashqelon

Ronton diesel engine, single cylinder. The biggest of its kind in Israel in the early thirties.
The Engine was part in a water pump station, now at the center of the town of Ashqelon.
The pumping station was owned by the Ben-Zvi family, then the Shneidmans.
Mr. Alon Galili found the engine and suprevised the process until the engine reached the museum. 
The pump was purchased for the museum from Mr. David Chai, by Raphael (Raful) Eitan, LTR Ret.
