A silver or silver-tone metal wine bottle label, designed in the shape of a grape cluster. The label features the Hebrew inscription "Chag Sameach" (Happy Holiday) and a chain for hanging around the bottle's neck. Similar items are sold as vintage Judaica for use on Sabbaths and holidays. The use of metal labels suspended by chains originated in Europe during the 18th century. At that time, wine and spirits were stored in dark glass bottles or crystal decanters that lacked paper labels; silver labels were hung around the bottle's neck to identify the type of beverage. During the 20th century, Jewish silversmiths adopted this European concept and adapted it to Jewish tradition.
