The mechanical thresher was developed around the middle of the 19th century (circa 1850) for threshing various cereals and legumes. It was hauled to the threshing floor by horses and there it was powered by a steam engine. The growers carried grains to the threshing floor to separate the chaff from grain.
This Case thresher (1922) was brought from Yavne'el where it served the growers from the lower galilee. Here it was restored by Amnon Berazovski through five years of work.
